What drives you?

What Drives You?


Ponder this question, what is orienting your life? What is the fundamental driver of your words, behaviours and actions?


We can apply this question to all areas of our lives. To our spirituality, to our relationships, to our work, to our diet, to our environmental activism, to our healing, to anything really.


Usually our drivers are unconscious unless we have done work to make them conscious. When they are unconscious they play out as automatic knee jerk responses, endlessly cycling. we get stuck looping, going in circles, so to speak. We end up feeling like we are spinning our wheels.


Its can be a very painful and difficult process to bring these parts of ourselves to the surface, we have buried them for a reason. And usually that reason is because they are quite painful to look at. It takes a certain amount of courage and self honesty to see and admit to ourselves that so much of what we do is driven by unconscious wounds and fears.


This question doesn't just apply only to people who suffer from addictions, trauma, or other mental health issues. It applies to everyone in all areas of life.


When we become aware of whats driving us, usually the first thing we come across is resistance. We done want to let these parts surface. Firstly begin to ponder that question in different areas in your life, where is this response/action coming from? Whats happening within your body at the moment you are reacting?


These simple questions help us to grow our awareness and become more conscious


Instead of attempting to change your experience and get to the light, start to work with and become more aware of your darkness, work with the parts of yourselves you have denied, the parts that have been to painful to previously look at, otherwise it will catch you.
